Week 2 Diet Progress

Ok, 2 weeks of the program are completed - how is everyone doing?

I'd like to give a special shout out to two people who have wrote in with some really positive results so far:

  • Nanette
  • Ellie
Way to go ladies!  If anyone else is starting to see results, please leave me a note in the comment section of this week's post below and let me know.  It's encouraging to everyone when we hear about your positive results.

For those of you who have stuck with your program and/or stepped up your exercise routine - good job!  Many people have written to me and said that so far they've cut out junk food and soda, have started drinking more water, are taking longer walks or working out more with weights.  No matter what you do - just do it!

Keep your focus.  Remember YOU are worth the effort.  You can do it.  Believe in yourself.

One last thing, anyone is free to join in at any time during the year.  You didn't have to sign up on day one.  Jump on our bandwagon at any time during the year.  On to week 3!

As always, be sure to consult your doctor before beginning any diet or exercise program.  Get a professionals advice on what is the best course of action for you.  Don't attempt anything that may cause injury.  I want to remind everyone that I am NOT a licensed nutritionist so I cannot tell you what to do.  I am only sharing my knowledge with others and sharing my journey.  Consult your doctor for his advice.

  1. I've finally started seeing some changes, for example I'm getting bigger veins on my biceps, my chest still has a bit of excessive fat on it but I can feel the muscle underneath, once I lose more weight I'll get rid of my Gynecomastia. I'm able to do more reps now. All this has really motivated me to lose weight!

It's exam time though so it's always hard to try to stay motivated, not to mention that I'm not doing as good as I would like.

  2. Keep up the good work - it's always encouraging when you feel like you're seeing results. I just finished exams and I know what you mean about it being hard to fit time in to work out. I like to try to go to the gym for awhile in between studying because it helps to clear my head.

Sometimes it helps me just to get up and go for a walk and breathe some fresh air too.

  4. I've lost 15 lbs in total, so far and i still have a long way to go, but the only thing that helps keep it off is not eating passed 8pm. I've learnt that i can eat small amount of the food I love at least once a day and still loose the weight. I did have a question; with all the weight lose is it a good idea to start using weights even though at the moment all i want to do is drop the weight?

    1. Good job Lori. Read this post I did awhile back:

You might try using some light weights for awhile and see how it affects your weight loss if you like.

  5. I remember when I first started out training, I was a fat 15 year old guy at around 210 lbs, 43" around the middle of the belly, I wasn't happy with how I looked, my self confidence was VERY bad. That was in April 2012.

Now, in January 2013, I'm a, quite much slimmer, 16 year old guy at around 158 lbs, 36" around the middle of the belly, so I've lost around 52 lbs(I can barely believe it myself) and about 8". I'm much more happy about how I look at the moment, even if there's quite some more bf to get rid of. I'm MUCH more confident about myself now too!

I do hope that I can get some abs showing themselves before the summer, that would be VERY fun and make me more motivated to keep training.

Oh also on a fun note, I checked some old pants; size 38 (damn, was I that big?), they don't even hold up anymore, right now I'm at size 32-33! :) I just threw away like 5 pairs of jeans and 10+ t-shirts (I used size L and XL before to "cover up", so to speak, now I use M). So fun to see results!!
